Hi everyone,
My name is Kelsee Quesnelle, I currently work for Niagara Health at 2 different hospitals - on Women and Babies (Postpartum) unit and a Complex Care unit. I recently decided to have a second position on the women and babies unit to discover what areas/specialities in nursing I want to pursue. I have been a nurse for just over a year now.
I have chosen to take this RPN to BScN program because I promised myself when taking RPN I would go back for RN if I liked nursing. I have a previous BSc from Brock University and wish I would have taken nursing rather than Concurrent Education (Teaching) when deciding on programs. This has luckily helped me with this program thus far.
This semester I am most looking forward to Week 10 discussing stroke. I do not have much experience dealing with strokes as our Complex Care unit get stroke patients only once stabilized. I am not familiar with acute treatment of stroke. I hope to gain knowledge of more acute care nursing skills from this course, as I hope to move to an acute care setting.
Something surprising about me is that I got my RPN license the same week I applied to this program.
